Redondo Beach, California

Redondo Beach is an amorphous community, stretching from its southern border with Palos Verdes Estates to its northern border with Inglewood, Lawndale and Manhattan Beach. The city varies tremendously from large multi-million dollar homes perched above the Pacific Ocean to tiny apartments that are relatively inexpensive.

Redondo Beach has its own police force and City Attorney as well as several city prosecutors whose misdemeanor cases are heard with Judge Sandra Thompson in Department 5 of the Torrance Superior Court.

Redondo Beach encompasses the trendy Hollywood Riviera section, the dense condominiums near the Redondo Beach Pier to the older, traditional homes near Redondo Union High School to the congested apartment area just west of the South Bay Galleria.

Redondo Beach’s approximately 65,000 residents are largely Caucasian, although there is a recognizable number of Hispanics and Asians. There are very few African Americans. A significant portion of the population is employed in the aerospace industry and services sector.

Legal disputes arising in Redondo Beach are heard in the Torrance Superior Court. Such cases, both criminal and civil, draw jurors from Torrance, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Hawthorne, Lawndale, West Carson, Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Lomita, parts of Harbor City and of course, Redondo Beach. Our office does the majority of its work in the Torrance courthouse. We are experienced with all of the judges, almost all of the city prosecutors and almost all of the district attorneys. We like to think of the Torrance courthouse as our “home court.”

Our office offers a wide range of services in not only criminal defense but also civil matters ranging from personal injury plaintiff work and defense work, bad faith litigation, breach of contract, real estate (including landlord tenant matters), employment litigation and intellectual property disputes.

The largest portion, however, of our work is in criminal defense. We defend those accused of both misdemeanors and felonies, from the more common cases such as DUI, domestic violence and theft, to the rarer cases involving juvenile offenses, assault and battery, sex crimes (lewd conduct, prostitution, rape and child pornography), robbery, white collar crimes (embezzlement being the most common), municipal code violations and the wide area of federal offenses. We also offer services such as modifying the terms of probation (early termination), expungment and seeking a pardon.

We offer a free initial consultation so that we can discuss with you the case facts and how our office can best serve your needs. Please contact our office at (310) 782-2500 to schedule an appointment for your free consultation or visit our website at greghillassociates.com. Our office, located at 22850 Crenshaw Blvd., Suite 200 in Torrance, is less than two miles from the Torrance Superior Court.
